Have you seen the new stop signs in the community? The HTC Metro Board shared information in last Thursday's e-Blast, but the stop signs took many of us by surprise, so we wanted to send a notice to please be on the lookout for new stop signs along Heritage Drive at the following locations:
- Heritage & Roslyn
- Heritage & Rosemary
- Heritage & Willow
TRAFFIC CALMING COMMITTEE
In December 2021, the HTC Metropolitan Board created the HTC Traffic Calming Committee. The committee's #1 goal is to increase community safety by reducing vehicle speed. Traffic studies concluded that speeds along Heritage Drive approaching Rosemary St westbound reached 35.5 mph. As a reminder the speed limit on Heritage Drive is 25 mph.
The Committee considered and researched several options including speed cushions, speed bumps, increased signage, raised crosswalks, painted roadways and crossings, more speed radar signs and trailers. With community costs in mind, the committee decided that calming medians and stop signs are best suited for the community's current situation, goals and budget.
