SURF PREMIER PERKS
Starting this fall, Greater Seattle Surf Soccer Club will partner with TOCA Football at its new Lynnwood facility to provide the revolutionary TOCA Training method to Surf's premier soccer members.

"Offering our players the opportunity to use a world-class training method like TOCA is something that will not only be unique but also very beneficial," said  Director of Soccer, Jason Farrell.  " Ball mastery builds confident young players which will have a very positive impact on the field.  I look forward to working with the TOCA staff to create something special for our club."

FALL JUNIORS PROGRAMS
We're currently at the midpoint of the Life Is A Kick/Scott's Soccer Tots (ages 3-5) and Junior Premier (ages 6-8) programs. There's a real buzz and excitement around the field on Sunday mornings, which is fantastic to see in our youngest soccer players.
" It's so exciting to see each child grow in confidence from week to week, as they progress and develop as young soccer players, says Scott Hall from Scott's Soccer Tots. " It has been an absolute 'ball' watching the group learn the new games - Red Light/Green Light; Marbles; Freeze Tag & Cheetah Chasers; as well as the individual skills, such as Dribbling, Turning, Pull-Backs, Toe Touches & Tick-Tocks!  Please give your child a high five for doing such a great job, and tell them we look forward to seeing them on Sunday."

During the first half of the Junior Premier Program (JPP), players were exposed to ball mastery techniques, incorporating basic foot skills, and changes of direction. The biggest focus was on player creativity and decision making skills when in possession of the ball in 1v1 and 2v1 attacking situations.  As the program progresses, players will continue on the attacking theme and begin to learn finishing techniques which will help them to score goals.

Program Director, David Hartshorn, says "With one eye on the future, I am looking forward to providing Life Is A Kick and JPP during Winter / Spring 2019.   More details to come soon."

PLAYERS AND TEAMS OF THE MONTH
Our new monthly recognition program celebrates the teams and individuals who  best exemplify the three pillars of #WeAreSurf by being enthusiastic, intentional, & together.

September Team of the Month - Girls
The G05A team consistently have a game plan for each match and execute it well. They work hard to build out of the back and to find gaps that allow them success in the final third part of the field.

This phenomenal teamwork lead the G05A to defeat Crossfire ECNL and tie the Eastside FC Academy teams so far this season.

September Team of the Month - Boys
Despite some struggles early on due to injuries, the B06A continued to support each other and weathered the storm well.    As players returned to health, the team got stronger and is now competing well by finding success as a team.

September Player of the Month - Girls
Kate Kresken (G05A) is an attacking center mid who is a catalyst on her team, bringing everyone together to become one strong unit. She has added 2 goals and 2 assists in the past month to help her team beat Crossfire ECNL and tie Eastside FC Academy.

September Player of the Month - Boys
Christian Sanchez (B06A) plays anywhere on the pitch for the betterment of his team. He works hard to improve himself and those around him. Christian is currently also training with the Sounders Discovery Program.
