Banana Slug Solutionaries are Anything but Sluggish

Congratulations to the Banana Slug Solutionaries team, our 130th Climate Action Team! In addition to coming up with a truly creative name, this team made a great impact by reducing 52,319 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions and earning 67,300 resilience points!

Karlene enrolled in Deep Green with MCE to receive 100% renewable energy! Plus, she chose to adopt a more climate-friendly diet, going vegetarian. She was enthusiastic about the program and its resources, which will help her take additional actions in the years to come.

Julie signed up for a QuitCarbon free home assessment to evaluate her appliances and plan for future upgrades.

Sarah learned a lot and is excited about converting her home to fully electric and incorporating water-saving features like a smart irrigation controller. She plans to use her newfound knowledge in her new role on the Larkspur City Council. Congratulations, Sarah!

Erin inspired the team by deciding to start her own Refill Station at the farmers' markets. What a fun way to tackle packaging and waste! She also found a lot of inspiration from the Marin Green Home Tour, which included a feature on what renters can do to create a low-impact home.

Thank you, team, for all your creativity and motivation! You’re truly making a difference!

"The RN program is really wonderful. It helps find practical, individual solutions that we all can take to combat climate change on a local level. I often feel overwhelmed by the big picture, but the program helps break things down into manageable steps that feel doable and inspiring. I highly recommend it."
