LightShine Missionaries are serving in Alaska
Hello Everyone!

What an awesome thing to see the joy of the LORD on people's faces. Our Dream Center Team arrived in Alaska last evening and they are excited about serving together this next week. The Alaska Dream Center works with people suffering from substance abuse and various addictions. Our ministry to them is to provide skilled labor to help them build and maintain their facilities. Put your heart and soul into every activity you do, as though you are doing it for the Lord himself and not merely for others. For we know that we will receive a reward, an inheritance from the Lord, as we serve the Lord Yahweh, the Anointed One!
Colossians 3:23-24 The Passion Translation

Here is a message from Team Leader, Nathan Bond:

This year we are traveling to the Men’s Alaska Dream Center located in Palmer, AK. Our assignment for the week is to remodel the main floor kitchen. It will need to be brought up to code in order to open in April. We will be fixing some minor plumbing issues, replacing sub floor and laying new flooring in the kitchen and dining area. The biggest task of the week will be molding, casting and setting nearly 30’ of concrete countertops. The countertops will be multiple sections, including a 8’ island weighing roughly 400 pounds. Our team is an amazing group of people. I am very excited to see how God will move amongst us in the coming days! The Lord is doing GREAT things in the state of Alaska!

Please pray for our Dream Center Team. They start work today!
Steve & Renee Hoey also arrived in Alaska yesterday and they will be serving in Homer, Alaska for the month of March. Steve serves on the board of LightShine and is our Director for Team Leader Development. In September of 2018, Steve led a team to work at Regent Life Church in Homer. Pastor Lanny Simpson recently asked them to consider working with them doing prison ministry and continuing the construction work on the new church building. Among other things, while in Alaska, they will be heading to the Copper River Valley to visit some of the ministry areas LightShine serves there including Gulkana, where they have been ministering each summer since 2013.  Please be in prayer as they travel over this next month, looking forward to even longer terms of ministry in Alaska in the future.
Come to our meeting this Tuesday!

On the first Tuesday of every month, LightShine Ministries meets at Manheim Brethren in Christ Church at 54 N. Penryn Road, Manheim, PA 17543. This month we will be talking with our teams that are serving in Alaska via video conferencing. We will also be hearing a moving story from one of our board members and team leader, Mel Miller about his daughter Janelle and son-in-law Joel Shrum who were missionaries in Yemen. Joel was a graduate of Donegal High School. On March 18, 2012, Joel was gunned down in Yemen by Al-Qaeda. The outcry, even by the local people there can be seen in this video below:

Come and be inspired from Mel's testimony on Tuesday evening and consider how Joel's death could inspire you in your personal service to Jesus Christ.
LightShine Ministries in Alaska
This year is a pivotal year for LightShine Ministries. We are in transition as a ministry that has been borrowing other ministry's properties for the last 24 years to now owning our own. We are in need of many more people to serve with us on a short term missionary team. We need help in building a garage that will house our teams, vehicles and tools. We need skilled labor and the finances to purchase building materials. We also need to continue to serve in all the places we have been serving for many years.

Please pray for our leaders as we seek the LORD for all these needs. Thank you so much!
