Doubly delicious dynamic dynamite Bongo Boy Records – The 63rd FYC Album by Various Artists
March 11, 2021
Doubly delicious dynamic dynamite Bongo Boy Records – THE 63RD FYC ALBUM BY VARIOUS ARTISTS: Back in my wild whisky days, the music on this doubly delicious dynamic dynamite album would have taken us just as high as the blue skies when bands like Steppenwolf and Grand Funk Railroad rooled the airwaves. To get an example of that, watch heavy-duty bands like Fiction Syxx performing “Bleed For The Truth”…
…or the smoke-hawt Johnny & The Mongrels performing “Louisiana Girl” in their high-energy and unique style…
…it just DON’T get no better ‘n this, peeps. What makes this double-album distinctive from all the others is that Bongo Boy Records only selected indie artists that were accepted by the Recording Academy 1st ballot for consideration for the 63rd Grammy Awards!
The songs go all the way from soulful blues by Annemarie Picerno and Bob McGilpin on “Money Pain” to lusciously lovely Latin flavors by Studeo on “Cabo San Lucas“… the keynote for this stunning assemblage of FYC (For Your Consideration) songs, though, is the raw & pure ENERGY they contain… to be honest, I’ve never heard an album with so many winners.
It’s really difficult to choose a favorite from the 20 songs offered up, but after listening through the album (with my headphones on, of course) twice, I’ve settled on David LaDuke’s “Psychedelic Sandwich“… exactly the kinda’ tune I would be rockin’ to as I put my moto-cycle boots on in th’ morning back in the day!
If you’re looking for a double-CD that will give you something new every time you listen to it, this gets a MOST HIGHLY RECOMMENDED rating, and an “EQ” (energy quotient) score of 4.99. Get more information on the Bongo Boy Records page for the release.  - Rotcod Zzaj
