Paige Olivetti and Ty Axtman to be Co-Head Coaches of Timberline High's Track & Field Team

Ty Axtman and Paige Olivetti have been hired as the new Co-Head Track & Field Coaches at Timberline High School beginning in the 2019 Spring Track Season. 

Coach Axtman has been a prominent coach in the Treasure Valley for close to a decade.  He began as an assistant track coach at Timberline in 2010, and took over as Timberline's Head Cross Country Coach in 2011. He has coached many individual district and state champions in track, including the 4x800, 4x400, the 800m, and 1600m. His current and former athletes also hold many school records at Timberline High School. In 2010 and 2014, Ty was named the SIC Coach of the Year, and in 2014 he was named USATFCCA Idaho Coach of the Year. In 2017, Coach Axtman received the IYSC High School Positive Coach Award. 

Coach Axtman was a standout distance runner in both high school and college. At Boise State, he was a 5-time WAC Conference Champion in Track and Field. In 2006 he was the WAC high point scorer, with 31 points at the conference meet, winning the 1,500m, 10,000m, and placing 2nd in the steeplechase, and 5th in the 5k. At that same meet, he was awarded the Men's Track and Field MVP. He was also a 2-time WAC Indoor Track and Field Conference Champion in the mile, and 2-time WAC Conference Champion in the 1500m. 

Coach Axtman has been married to former BSU track and field sprinter, Megan, for 4 years. They have a daughter, Reid, and son, Tate. 

Paige Olivetti was an outstanding track and field athlete in both high school and college. She attended Boise State University on a full-ride scholarship to compete for the Women's Track and Field team. At Boise State, she was a WAC conference champion in the 400m dash, as well as the anchor for the school-record holding and 2-time conference champion & NCAA Regional Qualifier 4x400 meter relay team. She was also a standout in the 200 meter and 4x100 meter relay.

After college, Coach Olivetti coached track and field at the middle school & high school level at North Star Charter School, and did private one-on-one coaching with athletes around the Treasure Valley. She became involved with Timberline Track and Field in 2016, and Cross Country at Timberline in 2018. Her background in elementary and secondary education, and Educational Leadership helps her foster well-rounded young adults, as well as great athletes. Coach Olivetti also brings a knowledgeable background in nutrition and fitness to share with the athletes.

Outside of coaching, Coach Olivetti is lead teacher and teacher trainer at Pure Barre Boise and Pure Barre Eagle. She's is excited to be a part of the Timberline High School athletic program, and is eager to build on the tradition of excellence as part of the track and field team.

Coach Olivetti is married to former Boise State track member, Matt, and enjoys running and biking around Boise with her dog, Scout.
