I-95 North Viaduct, Providence
We need to close Exit 37 BCD off I-95 North to continue demolishing the old ramp from Memorial Boulevard to I-95 North, Saturday night, April 5, at midnight through Sunday morning, April 6, at 5 a.m. Next week at this project, motorists can also anticipate various intermittent ramp closures on I-95 at the Exit 37 interchange, and alternating lane closures along both directions of I-95, from Exit 37A to Exit 39, for overhead sign removal and barrier work, Sunday-Thursday nights from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. Please follow signed detours during all closures.

Little Compton/Tiverton Pavement Improvements
Next week at this project, we’re building driveway aprons and removing asphalt that will ultimately be replaced with concrete from the Fish Road traffic islands. Expect alternating lane closures from Beth Road to Bulgarmarsh Road, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Landscaping is also scheduled for Main Road, with alternating one-way traffic from Central Avenue to Bridgeport Road, Monday-Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 6/10 Interchange Reconstruction, Providence
Drainage and bridge work at the 6/10 involves alternating lane closures on Route 6 East, from the Hartford Avenue on-ramp to the Broadway off-ramp, and Route 10 North, from the Westminster Street off-ramp to the Tobey Street Bridge, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Travelers can also anticipate alternating lane closures for bridge work on Route 6 West, from the Westminster Street Bridge to the Route 10 North to Route 6 West flyover ramp, Monday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Route 37 Improvements, Cranston/Warwick/Johnston
Bridge Group 51B: I-295 area
Roadway excavation and drainage installations are scheduled next week on I-295 North in the vicinity of Route 37, behind barrier with frequent vehicle access in/out of work zone, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tonight, at 9 p.m., we will install striping then shift all travel lanes to the right on Route 146 North, approaching Sayles Hill Road. The Route 146 North service road at Sayles Hill Road will be closed and the right turn from Sayles Hill Road to Route 146 North will be prohibited. We’ll also have alternating lane closures during this operation on Route 146, from Route 99 to Route 146A, from 9 p.m. through Saturday morning, April 5 at 6 a.m.
Next Friday, April 11, we’ll set up another new traffic pattern with one lane on the flyover ramp and one at ground level, on Route 146 South approaching Sayles Hill Road. To make this happen, Sayles Hill Road, west of the Route 146 intersection, will be closed and additional restrictions will be in place on Sayles Hill Road, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., that night. Motorists heading to Sayles Hill Road will not be able to turn left from Route 146 North or right from Route 146 South.
Next week, we’ll have alternating lane closures for road construction on both directions of Route 146, from Route 116 to Route 146A, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., and from Exit 10 the Massachusetts line, Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Tower Hill Road Bridge and Paving, North/South Kingstown
Overnight guardrail removal, temporary and permanent barrier placement, and electrical work at the ramps is scheduled next week on Route 1 (Tower Hill Road), from Shermantown Road to the Route 4 split. Motorists should anticipate alternating lane and temporary ramp closures, Sunday-Thursday nights from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Follow signed detours. Bridge work will also be taking place behind barrier with frequent vehicle access in/out of the work zone at the Routes 1 (Tower Hill Road) and 138 interchange ramps, Saturday, and Monday-Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Warwick Corridor Project
Bridge work along the Route 113 (East Avenue) center median for the bridges over I-95 and I-295 requires alternating lane closures on Route 113 West, from Route 5 to the I-95 North on-ramp, and on Route 113 East, from Route 2 (Bald Hill Road) to the I-295 South on-ramp, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Washington Bridge & I-195, East Providence/ Providence
On Sunday night, April 6, from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., expect up to two lanes closed on I-195 East, from the Iway Bridge to the Washington Bridge, for barrier work. During the week, motorists can anticipate right and center lane closures along I-195 East, from Exit 1A to Exit 1 B/C, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday-Thursday nights, April 7-10, for ongoing work associated with the installation of the Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system. Weekday SHM work will also be taking place under the bridge with no lane closures, Monday-Friday, April 7-11 and April 14-18, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Bridge demolition activities will continue on the land side of the bridge on the Providence and East Providence sides of the river, weekdays only from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Work also will begin on demolition of portions of the old bridge over the river. In accordance with CRMC guidelines, barges will be used to collect construction debris. Any debris that enters the water will be removed. Barges will then be towed to land for transfer into trucks for offsite disposal. Work will begin from both shorelines with the contractor progressing toward the center of the river. No work is currently planned after 4 p.m. to avoid any disruptive noise during evening hours.
