TIDBITS / NEWS / EVENTS

Ok, this heat is bad but it is not going to last. Fall presents us here in Southern California with some incredible weather for riding. With that said, I hope you haven’t let all the current negativity stop you from riding your motorcycle.

Putting your helmet on and going riding is pure therapy. You are alone with your thoughts even though you are surrounded by millions of people, and you feel and experience things car drivers just dream of. I have been riding for 54 years and still, every time I get on my motorcycle, there is a thrill and sense of joy that I absolutely cherish! I’ve said it a million times…Life is too short not to ride.

So get your gear on and go riding. No excuses! You know you need to and certainly won’t regret it.
New Triumph Trident Images Revealed: Entry Level Triple Poised to Take on MT-07
For a start you can see the bike rides on decent quality Showa suspension, while the brakes are by Nissin – two brands known for quality rather than price. We can also see it’s shod with Michelin Road 5 tires, another impressive bit of kit on an entry-level bike.

Elsewhere, we can see high-tech touches including a ride-by-wire throttle, LED lighting and a shapely dash. We can also see the rear number plate hanger, which runs off the swingarm to preserve the clean lines. The styling has both elements of modern, in the subframe and the headlight, as well as retro, in the tank cut outs.

What we don’t know much more about is the engine. Triumph say the Trident engine is all new although it’s based on existing architecture – expect around 660cc. There’s no power figures yet other than Triumph’s promise it will be A2 compliant, which means an absolute max of 94bhp.
New Teaser Suggests Ducati Multistrada V4 Will Arrive on October 15th
Ducati have begun a fresh social media campaign that suggests a new Multistrada V4 model is just weeks away from a full reveal. The Italian manufacturer uploaded an image of four pistons to their Facebook, Twitter and Instagram pages on Monday, September 28, with the caption: "4 is lighter than 2. It can also be more compact. October 15. Be ready to #ChangeParadigm."

On top of that, the brief uploads also include a link to a webpage that will be populated with four smaller hints, or 'Theorems', related to the fresh engine on a week-by-week basis.

With only one of four theorems currently present, details remain limited. However, there are a number of subtle hints that suggest this new engine will power a Multistrada. There are two studio images of the pistons and two images of different road surfaces; one tarmac and the other dirt. This immediately suggests the new bike will feature multi-terrain capabilities, like the existing Multistrada V-twins.

What’s more, a brief caption alongside the pictures also suggests this engine platform will replace an existing one, saying: "The adaptation of V4 to a smaller bore achieves the objective of a weight reduction of 1.2 kg compared to the previous V2 generation."
