Your Monthly Chapter Update: March 2025

BIA San Bernardino County Chapter Members -

Thank you to all the Board of Directors who attended our annual retreat in February. The Board covered many critical topics for our chapter including ways to bring more value to our membership, government advocacy, and upcoming events. The BIA team remains committed to addressing critical legislative priorities, including rising development impact fees, evolving state biological laws, and capacity challenges with Southern California Edison. Additionally, the Board discussed meaningful ways our organization can support communities affected by the Eaton and Palisades Fires.

We also appreciate the City of Ontario for kicking off our City Spotlight Series as our first host city. City Manager Scott Ochoa provided an impressive overview of the City's ambitious plans and economic opportunities, setting a high bar for future spotlights. Stay tuned for our next featured City!

Action Alert - Rancho Cucamonga DIF Update

The City of Rancho Cucamonga has released their two new DIF studies with a public hearing scheduled on April 2.

Below are the Proposed Transportation Fee Schedule, Proposed Non-Transportation Fee Schedule, the Proposed Projects List, and the Transportation DIF Nexus Study.

Transportation DIF Nexus Study

City of Ontario Update

The City of Ontario will consider a development impact fee increase of approximately $15,000 per unit on March 18. For more information and details regarding the fee methodology please attend a BIA member briefing via zoom on March 11 from 10 am to 11 am. BIA staff and members will also be meeting separately for a Roundtable Discussion with Ontario city staff to discuss recommendations for the plan check and other permit processes on March 13 from 9:30 am to 11:00 am at City Hall.
