WELCOME to ATHENIAN!

Hello!

The admission team and I are so excited that you and your student have chosen to join the Athenian community! We thoroughly enjoyed meeting so many of you throughout the application process.

In the coming weeks you'll begin to hear less from members of the Admission team and more from faculty, staff, and administrators, whom you will get to know well throughout your time at Athenian.

This is the first of three new family newsletters sent from our Communications Office. These will contain important calendar items as well as invitations to upcoming events. You can expect a few other occasional communications and reminders from Athenian between newsletter issues.

We look forward to welcoming you to campus for our family welcome event on April 20!

Warmly,

Yocelin González

Director of Enrollment Management

Math & World Language Form & Assessments

Please log into your parent myAthenian account and with your student complete the Math & World Language Form by Monday, April 15 to ensure we assign your student to the appropriate courses and readiness assessments. The World Language readiness check (for students wanting to place out of level I languages) will be offered in person on Saturday, April 20 at 1:00 PM. The math and International Student English Readiness will be offered online between Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 28.

Athenian Connect

Looking for a way to prepare your student for their transition to Athenian? Athenian Connect, a one-week, no-cost summer program, is designed as a bridge for new students coming from historically marginalized or underrepresented backgrounds or communities. A formal invitation will be sent separately in May. In the meantime, contact Jackie Soohoo with questions about the program. Athenian Connect runs August 5 - 9 from 9:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Athenian Summer Programs

Athenian has excellent summer programming for children in grades K - 10. Learn more on our Summer Programs site. Of note, two overnight Affinity Camps (BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ Allies) are a part of our summer offerings.
