Hunterdon Commissioners Direct Health Department
To Set Up Vaccination Registration With Wait List

Commissioners Waiting Their Turn For Vaccine
“Like Everyone Else”
Hunterdon County’s Board of County Commissioners has directed the County Health Department to prepare a new COVID-19 vaccination clinic registration internet platform that will allow for residents to be placed on a wait list when appointments are full.

Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren, the Board’s liaison for the Health Department, stated at the February 2 Board meeting, “The state increased eligibility for vaccination to 4 million people, while only receiving 100,000 doses per week. That math simply does not work and that is causing the registration problems.

None of the members of the Board of Commissioners have received vaccination, as none of us are eligible under the present criteria. We will all wait our turn, just like everyone else.”

Hunterdon Officials Unveil
‘You Earned It!’ Campaign
For Veterans Property Tax Deduction
Hunterdon County officials kicked off an effort entitled the ‘Veterans, You Earned It!’ campaign, on January 29, that will tell all Veteran homeowners they are now eligible for the $250 Veterans Property Tax Deduction and make application forms available to the County’s Veterans.

Hunterdon County Board of County Commissioners Director Susan Soloway and Commissioner Zach Rich joined with County Clerk Mary Melfi and Sheriff Fred Brown, a U.S. Navy Veteran, to announce the start of the campaign, which will include distributing posters and flyers, enlisting the support of Veterans’ organizations to spread the word, and social media and other communication activities.

Soloway stated, “There are many Veteran homeowners who are now finally eligible for the property tax deduction and should submit an application. These Veterans have earned this benefit by their service to our nation, which is why we have dubbed this effort the You Earned It campaign.”

Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals Joins Hunterdon County's Economic Roster
Hunterdon County is welcoming Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals, another life science and bio sector company, to the lineup of similar businesses that have chosen to locate in the County, Commissioner Matt Holt announced at the February 2nd Board of County Commissioners meeting.

Holt, the Board’s Economic Development liaison, reported, “Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals is a multi-billion dollar, innovation-driven, specialty pharmaceutical company whose history dates back into the 19th century. Their expansion into the Perryville III facility in Union Township along I-78 is most welcome.”
