On November 1, an empty warehouse in the 16 Tech Innovation District came to life with more than 300 neighbors, friends and partners. Drones flew overhead, local artists turned blank canvasses into original pieces of art, parents helped their children build their own microscopes, and the curious tried on virtual reality headsets to travel out of this world.
The activities were all part of the 16 Tech Fest, a community-wide event that celebrated the launch of the 16 Tech Community Investment Fund and recognized the residents, city officials and organizations that helped us develop the grantmaking process and guidelines.
Applications for grants - available to nonprofits of all sizes that serve residents in neighborhoods that surround 16 Tech - are now open. Details about the grants, eligibility requirements and a link to the applications can be found on our
website.
16 Tech is hosting grant information sessions in December and January for those interested in learning more. (S
