“The Clear Solution video easily explains the highly technical advanced water purification process and shows the many benefits the Program will bring to East County for a sustainable water future,” said Allen Carlisle, East County AWP Joint Powers Authority (JPA) Program Administrator and Padre Dam Municipal Water District CEO/General Manager. “After viewing, residents can sign-up for the Program’s newsletter, learn more about available virtual tours and look at the educational information that is available throughout the site.”
When complete, the East County AWP Program will create a new, local, reliable and drought proof drinking water supply by recycling and reusing the region’s wastewater. Additionally, it will be one of the first potable reuse projects in the State of California to use the new reservoir augmentation regulations. The East County AWP is a collaborative partnership between Padre Dam Municipal Water District, Helix Water District, County of San Diego and the City of El Cajon.

The East County Advanced Water Purification Program will create a new, local, sustainable and drought-proof drinking water supply. The Program will use state-of- the-art technology to purify East San Diego County’s recycled water to produce up to 30 percent of East County’s drinking water supply.
