Great Lakes Advisory Board Extended for Two Additional Years
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced last week that it will renew the Great Lakes Advisory Board (GLAB) for an additional two-year period.
The purpose of the GLAB is to provide advice and recommendations to the EPA Administrator through the Great Lakes National Program Manager on matters related to the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and on domestic matters related to the implementation of the Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement. The Great Lakes Advisory Board, which was originally established in 2012, had its jurisdiction expire in June of 2018, but it was re-established by EPA in December of 2018. Last spring the EPA appointed 14 members to the Board, which represent business groups, environmental organizations, academia and state, local and tribal governments. According to its charter, the GLAB will meet approximately twice per year.
