NEMWI’s Great Lakes Legislative Tracker highlights that this past week, U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar introduced S.3069. This legislation, if signed into law, would reauthorize the Great Lakes Fish and Wildlife Restoration Act of 1990. S.3069 is currently cosponsored by Senators Rob Portman, Debbie Stabenow, and Todd Young.
Additionally, U.S. Rep Tom Rice introduced The FEMA Relief Extension Act. If signed into law, the bill would amend the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act and any other corresponding legislation, to extend the period for federal assistance to individuals and households.
The Northeast-Midwest Institute and its Great Lakes Washington Program will continue to monitor the progress of Great Lakes legislation in the months ahead. The updated Great Lakes Legislative Tracker can be viewed here.
