Safe Water Starts Deep: How We Are Securing Your Groundwater

Protecting your drinking water means knowing what's happening underground — before problems ever reach the surface.

This year, MCWD's Water Resources department constructed seven new monitoring wells, three of which are specifically engineered to reach the deep aquifer system. This expanded network significantly strengthens our data collection capabilities and gives our team an unprecedented picture of groundwater conditions beneath our communities.

MCWD's Water Resources department oversees all monitoring activities, ensuring continuous data analysis to guide sustainable groundwater management decisions for today and into the future.

We're also completing a study on injecting purified recycled water back into the aquifer to bolster long-term water availability, while actively expanding recycled water use for landscaping, thereby reducing how much we draw from the ground every single day.

Every well drilled, every drop recycled, and every data point collected helps protect the water you count on. 💧
