New Williston Works Podcast features Walt's Market
Williston Economic Development News Release - – Williston Economic Development (WED) has released another episode from the third season of its Williston Works Podcast. Episode 2 features Shanna Zaste of Walt’s Market. Shanna and her husband Zach own Walt’s Market in Williston. They purchased the corner market located at 922 University Avenue in 2018. “Walt’s Market was actually started in 1942,” said Zaste during the podcast. Read More
General Aviation benefits Community Development
Williston Herald - Representatives from the National Air Transportations Association visited Williston Basin International Airport as part of their nationwide tour promoting general aviation. “This is part of our General Aviation Advancing America tour, and we’re promoting the need for airports and infrastructure as it relates to economic development and job creation for the community,” Senior Vice President of the National Air Transportations Association Ryan Waguespack told the Williston Herald. “Right here in Williston is a great example of general aviation and the services it provides in the area and as it relates to jobs and further progress.” Read More
Williston Fire Department helps raise Funds, Awareness for MDA
City of Williston News Release - The Williston Fire Department is participating in this year’s annual Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) “Fill the Boot” drive virtually. Since 1954, the International Association of Firefighters has helped MDA fight back against muscular dystrophy and other degenerative neuromuscular diseases with the “Fill the Boot” campaign, raising nearly $275 million. Halloweek planned October 26-30 in Downtown Williston; Trail of Treats canceled

Williston Herald - The Williston Downtowners Association announced plans for Halloween featuring an entire week of activities for the whole family to enjoy. After much deliberation, including a public brainstorming session, the Downtowners board announced they will coordinate the following activities during “Halloweek,” planned for Monday, October 26 to Friday, October 30. Deadline for CARES Act Funding for Local Businesses October 30
News Release - The state of North Dakota set aside $50 million of CARES Act funding to help local business owners. Bank of North Dakota (BND) is distributing this through the COVID PACE Recovery II (CPR II) program by reimbursing businesses for interest on business related debt accrued between April 1-September 30, 2020. These funds do not need to be repaid. Read More
Williston Petroleum Banquet moved to January 8
The Williston API is proud to announce the Ninth Annual Williston Petroleum Banquet will be held Saturday, January 8 from 6-9:30 p.m. at The Well on the Williston State College campus. The banquet is a celebration of the oil and gas industry in the Williston Basin. Ticket Information
New Restaurant opens in Watford City
McKenzie County Farmer - Opening a new restaurant in Watford City is no easy feat. But Six Shooters LLC has done it again as it officially opened its fourth restaurant, Slow Ride, a tequila kitchen, on Oct. 14. “You can come here and laugh and enjoy a nice drink and have good food in an enjoyable atmosphere,” says Angie Pelton, of Six Shooters, LLC. Participating Downtown Williston businesses will offer sales, contests, giveaways and treats. Trail of Treats has been canceled.

10/27 ------ Virtual Coffee & Conversation
The Williston Chamber's morning networking event will be held virtually from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Registration

10/27 ------ City Commission
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. in the Chamber Room at City Hall.

10/31 ------ Trunk or Treat with First Responders
The event will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the parking lot at the Law Enforcement Center. Masks are required.

10/31 ------ Mask or Treat at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston
Drive by Door 1 to receive treats and adult-sized cloth masks. Participants should remain in their vehicles. More information

11/03 ------ Williston STAR Fund
The Williston STAR Fund board of directors will meet from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Williston Center for Development.

11/10 ------ City Commission
