Routines

We all have routines. I am a creature of habit and so is my husband. He starts every morning the same way. He has his tea, he watches the news, and then prepares for an at-home workout. In preparation for his workout, he sets up his daily arrangement on our living room table. This arrangement includes his phone, the TV remote, his water with electrolytes, his arm brace, a towel, and his removed glasses and wedding ring. All objects are so neatly placed on the table each day that they create an unintentional still-life that has just been screaming to be painted.

More from the Leftovers series:

“Leftovers” is a series of small abstract paintings that are each inspired by one of my larger reality-based works. Each small painting is created using only “leftover” paint from the larger painting and is meant to be an abstract representation of the mood of the original piece.
