LAKE ELSINORE, CA – C&C Development and Orange Housing Development's partnership with the City of Lake Elsinore, continue construction of the Mission Trail Apartments encompassing 81 workforce housing units on 5.37 acres along Mission Trail Road. The site was owned by the City of Lake Elsinore and is located within the East Lake Specific Plan.
Rents will be affordable to households with incomes ranging from 50 percent to 60 percent of Average Median Income (AMI). The community will consist of 21 two-bedroom floor plans of approximately 884 square feet and 60 three-bedroom plans of approximately 1,142 square feet, and the family apartments will feature central heating and air conditioning.
“As part of our long-term vision and socially responsible planning effort, the City of Lake Elsinore recognizes the growing need to develop affordable housing for our hard-working residents,” said Mayor Steve Manos. “To fulfill this need, we pride ourselves in partnering with respected developers such as C&C and Orange Housing. Affordable housing opportunities not only meet the city’s inclusionary housing requirements, but also help increase discretionary income for many of our families and encourage economic development for the city – a true win-win result for residents and our development partners.”
A major addition to the city’s workforce housing inventory, Mission Trail consists of one two-story and three three-story residential buildings that are served by a circular entry plaza. The contemporary Mission Revival-style architecture features such design elements as distinctive wooden window boxes and balconies that create a strong aesthetic statement which complements surrounding neighborhoods.
The Mission Trail Apartments will be served by 162 parking spaces of carports and open parking at a ratio of two parking spaces per unit. Access to the property will be through a loop road providing convenient access for both residents and emergency services.
“Mission Trail is our first affordable housing development in the City of Lake Elsinore and is made possible by our public/private partnership with the city,” said Todd Cottle, principal of C&C Development. “Our goal in designing Mission Trail is to create an apartment community that is comparable to the look and feel of market-rate housing with features and amenities that will offer a high-quality living environment for families.”
