Happy Memorial Day!

It's been a few weeks since my last newsletter because I've been busy stocking new yarns from many of your favorites: Manos del Uruguay, Trendsetter, Berroco, and Lana Grossa. When the new yarns arrive, I MUST make something with them so I've also kept busy by creating new display pieces in the shop.

I hope everyone is enjoying the Memorial holiday weekend. The shop is open today from 11AM - 4PM. Please drop by!

Update on New Yarns

New from Manos del Uruguay:

Ideal is the newest yarn from Manos. It is named after the Uruguayan term for the Polwarth sheep and is a 4 ply worsted weight yarn crafted from 100% Uruguayan Polwarth wool. It is vibrant, bright, and perfect for matching and colorwork and I'm in love with it. My 1st project with Ideal was the Traveler Hat Memorial Weekend KAL challenge. I used 1 skein of Nectar.

Also check out the 18 new colors in Marla and Sami!

New from Trendsetter:

Leisure is made with a luxurious blend of kid mohair (80%) and silk (20%). Each cake ball contains ~440 yards and comes with a decorative fabric loop so you can knit straight from the ball while holding it around your wrist. My 1st project with Leisure was a Broken Rib Scarf in Popsicle color on US #8 needles.

Vibe is a fashionable tubular yarn with a delicate sparkle. When the yarn is dyed, the water expands the inside fiber making the yarn grow in thickness but not in weight which means big needles and a light weight fabric. I just finished a striped cardigan using 2 skeins of 7 colors and 1 skein of 2 colors. This pattern is still being workshopped, but I am happy to pass it along with a yarn purchase to create the cardigan.

Spotlight on Indie Dyer Alexander the Art of Yarn

I'm a huge fan of yarn with subtle sparkles (see Vibe above), so I couldn't resist grabbing several shawl cakes of Agate Beach from Alexandra The Art of Yarn.

Alexandra specializes in unique, custom hand-dyed yarns which is why I selected Agate Beach for my shop. I had never seen anything like it at such high quality. One stunning shawl cake is all you need to create a unique gorgeous shawl! The yarn is 97% Superwash Merino, 7% Lurex and there are 800 yards in a 200g cake. I am in love with my Migla shawl in Brown Gem.
