National Newsletter Winter 2018
Welcome to 2018!
Welcome to 2018!

First, we'd like to thank each and every one of you who made a donation to our 2017 Annual Appeal. As you know, TTN is supported by its members via membership dues and the additional generosity of members who express their appreciation of our organization by making these additional contributions. We achieved 93.5% of our goal of $18,000 for the year. THANK YOU.
Every new year brings new ideas, new energy and new achievements. Some of us begin this process by making "New Year's Resolutions." If that's you, I recommend this excellent article by Wendy Papier Bernstein which appears in the Women of TTN page on our website. Wendy, a member in our New York chapter, dives into the our personal attitudes about professional wellbeing. Definitely worth the read. Read more...

It's always inspiring to see how many of our members give back to their local communities. This holiday season was no exception. See the photos below of members in our Santa Fe chapter as they visited a local senior home and brought cheer through music and companionship. We have some very talented entertainers in Santa Fe and they enjoy sharing their gifts with others.

Gail Sheehy has been making the rounds of TTN chapters in recent months. She visited our Long Island chapter in September and just this past week, inspired a room full of TTN members in Philadelphia. Her memoir Daring: My Passages reminds us all that if we don't try, we can't succeed. See below for photos and a link to buy this guide to a life well lived.

Our mission is to build a solid community of women who support each other through the many transitions that occur at this stage of life. We want to reach more women, both inside and outside of our chapter boundaries. Has TTN made a difference in your life? Would you recommend it to a friend? Let us know what you think of TTN by posting a review on Read more...

All of our best wishes to you and yours for a happy, healthy and safe 2018.
Board News
A Message from the President of TTN
Having now completed my first term as President of the Board of Directors, I am reflecting back on the past two years that encompassed so much change in our world.
As a country, we saw the wave of women speaking out through marches throughout the country. We heard the voices of those who came out to say "Me Too", and now many more women are running for election across the spectrum of local and national political offices.
What a time to be a woman who is part of an organization that "Embraces Change!"

We are very fortunate to have so many talented and dedicated women who serve on our Board of Directors. This year we bid adieu to Barbara Beizer, Jean Palmer and Barbara Schreibman whose board terms ended on December 31. They gave their time and expertise to develop Signature Programs, leadership training workshops and creative marketing strategies in an effort to help TTN become a stronger organization. We heartily thank them for their service and look forward to their continuing involvement as members of TTN.
