The January Association Luncheon will be held on January 21, 2020 at 11:45 am at the Crown Center . Immediately following the meeting, the 9th Annual State of the Real Estate Market will be held. Dr. Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist for the National Association of REALTORSĀ®, David Evans Association Past President and Zan Monroe, CEO of the Association will deliver the 2019 housing statistic numbers and discuss the trends in the market for 2020. Everyone is invited; bring your clients, builders, developers, lenders, attorneys and everyone in your office. It will be very informative.

The Public Relations Committee is still collecting food in support of the Alms House who provides bags for hungry children in the community. They are collecting Chef Boyardee microwavable pastas ( Beefaroni, Spaghetti & Meat Balls, and Beef Ravioli ) . The Alms House prepares and distributes an average of 400 bags each week and the need is great. If you donā€™t have time to pick up the pastas, cash donations can also be made. If you bring a check, please make it out to the Alms House. With the holidays approaching, the children will need our help even more, so please continue to support this project. Special thanks to Tim Delgado for his donations to the Alms House.

Thanks to Tom and Peggy Daniel for their donation to the Sunshine Fund from their Sunshine Fund Continuing Education classes. Thanks again!!

A special thanks to everyone who donated food items to be given to the Alms House and teddy bears to be given to sick children at the December Luncheon. With our contributions, holiday meals were prepared for those in need. The teddy bears were given to the Friends of the Children of Cape Fear Valley Health System, who will distribute to children in the hospital. We had the largest collection of teddy bears ever and the representatives from the Friends of the Children were very thankful. Thanks again to everyone!!!

Laurie Linder and the Association wishes to thank everyone who made RPAC donations in 2019. Due to a lot of HARD work, we exceeded our goal for the year. Please give President-Elect David Sattelmeyer your support for the 2020 campaign. Thanks Again.

You received your invoice in the amount of $585 for your annual REALTORĀ® dues in mid-December. The local Association and the National Association of REALTORSĀ® did not increase the dues amount for 2020, however, NC REALTORSĀ® did vote to increase their portion of the dues by $20 per member for 2020. Therefore, the dues will be $585 for the year. You are reminded of the bylaws regarding dues payment which states: ā€œSection 3. Dues Payable. Membership dues for the calendar year are due on January 1, payable by January 31. Notice will be given on February 1 that the membership will be terminated on February 15 if payment is not received by that date.ā€ You may pay your dues online through the NAR IMS payment system, with a personal check, money order, MasterCard, Visa or American Express. Please do not bring cash--we do not have change. PLEASE PAY ON TIME!!!!

Several years ago, a line item was added to your annual dues invoice for a voluntary contribution to RPAC. If paying with a corporate/company check, please do NOT include the RPAC amount on the check since RPAC cannot accept corporate money. Your contribution will gladly be accepted when written on your personal check . Thank you for your continued support of RPAC and the issues related to the real estate industry protected by these funds.

Angie Hedgepeth, Government Affairs Director for the Association, attends all the local meetings each month, as well as NAR and NCAR meetings, and keeps members abreast of the multiple issues being addressed in local, state and national government. She prepares reports on the meetings she attends and they are included in the monthly ā€œGovernment Affairs Updateā€. The deadline for dropping or adding agents is the 15 th of each month. Any notification received after that date will reflect on the next monthā€™s billing.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  The MLS does not charge for new agents joining during the month, however, if the Association is not notified that an agent has left prior to billing, the company will be responsible for payment of the service fee for that agent.
