NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY

Nothing to do on New Year's Eve? We've got you covered

Simeon's Song proclaimed that Jesus was the Christ promised long ago. With joy, Simeon declares that God has kept His promises and the Anointed One has finally come. Sunday at 10:10 am

Looking for something to do on New Year's Eve this year? Come hang out with us at the church!

TIME:

The evening will start at 6:00pm. You can arrive and leave whenever you want to, but we plan on wrapping up around 12:01 am. :-)

FOOD:

  • Break out the recipe books and bring a crockpot of your favorite soup, or appetizer or dessert to share. Whatever sounds good to you.
  • If you would like to bring a 2 liter of pop as well, that would be wonderful.

GAMES:

As usual, we'll have a few board games and card games available. You are also welcome to bring a favorite game of your own.

If you would like to watch the Detroit Lions VS the Dallas Cowboys games that evening--no worries. We will have the games on TV. You are welcome to just sit and enjoy the football games, or you can play games while you watch. The choice is yours.

The King in the North! Detroit Lions Yes!

PARTY AT THE CHURCH? WHY?

One of our Values at Brookside is Family. Families grow close by spending time in relationship with one another, so we want to provide opportunities for our people to do just that. It may not seem like a super spiritual thing, but God designed us to do life together so quality time spent with one another is actually really important.

The process of becoming the person God made you to be is just that- a process. So following Jesus can sometimes be frustrating because we experience the visible benefit in a much more gradual, unhurried manner. While we are instantly justified, redeemed, and adopted, we often don’t see the fruit of that decision instantly. Fruit takes time- we don’t immediately exude Christ-likeness. We don’t, on a moments notice, become more loving spouses, more patient parents, more gentle leaders, more humble servants, or more self-controlled citizens of God’s kingdom. But still, the process of becoming more like Jesus begins here. In Galatians 5, Paul reveals two forces that can shape who we become, but the reality is that only one force can make us the person we were meant to be. In this series, we’re going to explore the fruit of the Spirit, consider who we are becoming by His power, and discover the person we were ultimately created to be. Join us starting in January 2024 at 10:10 am

Wabash Conference will be starting the new year with 21 ays of prayer and fasting, beginning January 7th and going through January 27th. We at Brookside are planing on joining in this season of prayer, and we are also encouraging fasting during this time. This is the perfect season to realign yourself and the church toward God. Fasting, along with prayer, provides that focus. Updated prayers, notes on fasting, and scripture readings are located by pushing the "Prayer 21" button below.

Also, a PDF handout with the daily schedule, focus, and readings. The PDF is a large print and has two columns. Credit is given appropriately on the document for the content. Enjoy!
