SOUL News

I just returned from a 17 day vacation in Yelapa and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

It was an interesting trip that included my travel buddy cancelling last minute (she got sick), me not feeling well when I arrived, and the day I felt better, I fell and hit my head... hard. This happened New Years Day and I can't help but think there was symbolism in it. Perhaps it was a shake-me-awake kind of fall... which included going through some 'dark nights of the ego' (I personally don't believe in 'dark nights of the soul' as the Soul knows what it is :).

The fall brought tremendous anxiety and Google searches made it worse. I was so scared I tried to change my flight to return home. I ended up going to Urgent Care and had a CAT Scan done and all was fine. After hearing that I wasn't going to die or go insane from a slow brain bleed, I felt better... at least physically, but I was still out of sorts for several more days.

It's hard to describe the despair I felt, but it was intense and unsettling.

I've never been good at relaxing. I have always loved working, learning, staying busy, being creative and productive. I'm sure there is pathology in this as workaholism is a known trauma response... but I also feel enthusiastic, ecstatic and alive when I am useful and on purpose.

Too much time on my hands can lead to monkey mind. I tried meditating

and talking to my higher Self but my attempts were half-hearted and empty.

I felt like I wasn't myself. Each day I laid low, sulking in my condo

overlooking the beach that I barely set foot on. In the evenings,

I enjoyed scrumptious dinners out alone or with my sweet Mexican family.

Then, I'd run home to watch a few episodes of 'Anne with an E' on Netflix, which was the perfect show for this strange and tender time.

Finally, on the 12th day I reached out to a dear friend, Suara Lee who does Akashic Record Readings and booked a session with her the next day.

This reading shifted everything, thank God.

I talk about it here:

One other awareness I've had is that I feel like I may have outgrown long vacations. Similar to last month's sharing - I truly love my life, and there is no need to vacate from it. This doesn't mean I won't ever take a vacation again,

I will of course. This was a just another reminder that my life is

already a joy-filled, abundant, ever-expanding blessing.

The chief beauty about time is that you cannot waste it in advance. The next year, the next day, the next hour are lying ready for you, as perfect, as unspoiled, as if you had never wasted or misapplied a single moment in all your life. You can turn over a new leaf every hour if you choose.

This new day has greeted us with no rules; unconditional opportunity. Do not dilute the power of this new day with the hardship of yesterday. Greet this day the way it has greeted you; with open arms and endless possibility.

Inspirational SOUL of the Month

Meet my amazing friend Suara Lee!

I first met Suara over 20 years ago when we were assisting together at the BEST School ever, University of Santa Monica. Suara, along with two other USM grads, Lynn and Carolann, and I quickly became soul sisters when we decided to form a special project team, devoting time each month to meet and share our intentions, challenges and blessings. We have met on and off since 2002 and I treasure my friendship with these 3 beautiful, wise women.

Suara is creatively brilliant, humble, funny, deeply intuitive, an incredible mother to two tweens, a devoted wife, and she is an out-of-this-world Akashic Record Reader! After decades spent working as a high powered business executive Suara received her calling to learn more about the Akashic Records. Last year she made the shift into doing this sacred work full time, and I am so glad she did. I have had several readings with her as have many of my close friends and she is truly gifted in this life-enhancing, mind-blowing, soul-inspiring, work. You can find out more about what the Akashic Records are, and Suara's phenomenal work here AkashicRecords.com

PS: USM is offering their Soul-Centered Living Program starting March 2023 - all classes meet on zoom and I will be assisting! I can't recommend this program highly enough!!! Check it out and let me know if you have questions.

Try not to resist the changes that come your way. Instead let life live through you. And do not worry that your life is turning upside down. How do you know that the side you are used to is better than the one to come?

SONG: 'My Sweet Lord' (one of my most fav songs ever)

Do not be dismayed by the brokenness of the world. All things break.

And all things can be mended. Not with time, as they say, but with intention. So go. Love intentionally, extravagantly, unconditionally.

The broken world waits in darkness for the Light that is you.
