With Love, From Ms. Davis

Welcome back to your Madison Station home…a place of promise and peace, rigor and relationships.

At Madison Station, we believe the best things happen when we come together, and this year our theme reminds us of that truth:

Let's Make Things Better Together.

As you visit campus for back-to-school events and prepare for a new year of learning, take a moment to enjoy the many enhancements made possible through the partnership between our Madison Station Parent Teacher Organization and Madison County Schools.

Every improvement is a reminder that when families, educators, and our community work together, we create something even better for our children.

We look forward to seeing you at Meet the Teacher on July 28! After meeting your homeroom teacher, feel free to stop by and say a quick hello to your switch teacher as well. Be sure to visit the foyer to join the PTO, purchase your back-to-school shirts (Spirit Friday and field trip shirts), and get a hug from your princiPALS.

At Madison Station, we know that better schools are built through strong partnerships, caring relationships, and a shared commitment to our students. Thank you for trusting us with your children. Your family is part of our family, and together we will make this year brighter, stronger, and better than ever. I sure have missed you. Let’s get back to it and…make things better together!

With love,

Ms. Davis

Nurse Notes

Hello Madison Station families!

I am so happy to be back at MSE and excited to be a part of keeping students and staff healthy and safe. I am excited to share that my office hours have changed. I will be in the school daily from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Please take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with the Health and Wellness section of the student handbook located on the MCSD website. An important reminder: please keep your child home if they have vomiting, diarrhea, a persistent cough and sore throat, or a temperature of 100°F or greater without the use of fever-reducing medication.

As you are busy getting adjusted to your back-to-school routine, you may be tempted to send over-the-counter medication to school with your child. Although you may trust your child with carrying Tylenol, ibuprofen, ointments, sinus medications, eye drops, or even cough drops, this is against school policy. Madison County School District policy states that students cannot transport medication of any kind to or from school. All medication must be transported by a parent or other responsible adult.

If your child requires daily or as-needed medication at school, a physician's order is required. Please complete the Medication Permission Request Form, linked here, before any medication can be administered at school.

If your child has a life-threatening allergy, asthma, seizures, or diabetes, please complete the appropriate required Action Plan, linked here. This will allow MSE to store emergency medications such as inhalers or EpiPens.

I will be at Meet the Teacher on July 28 to answer any questions, provide medical forms, and sign in medication.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at 601-856-6246 or email krandall@madison-schools.com

Kindly,

Krista Randall, RN

Meet Our Featured Artist of The Month: Julie Hardy

Hi! I’m Julie Hardy, and I’m so excited to share my artwork with the Madison Station community this month!

Originally from Vermont, I’ve had the opportunity to live in several states before my family and I made Mississippi home. My husband, Jeff, and I have three wonderful sons: Elliott, a freshman at Ole Miss; Lincoln, a sophomore at Madison Central; and Duncan, who is starting Madison Middle School this year.

A few years ago, I discovered a passion for painting, beginning with seasonal décor and painted furniture. That hobby quickly grew into my business, Mantel Decor and More, and eventually expanded into teaching paint classes, creating custom window art, holiday yard displays, and banners. Today, you can find my painted furniture at 3 Houses Studios in Gluckstadt, and I regularly participate in local craft fairs. Most recently, I’ve enjoyed exploring a new artistic style while studying with Chattanooga artist Ali Kay.

I hope you enjoy the colorful collection on display in the halls this month. Thank you for letting me share my love of art with you!
