Enterprise Development
About Us

Enhance Culture. Optimize Performance.

Hello Julie,

New Year; New Beginnings...

With a new year often comes new beginnings--which can be intimidating for some and exhilarating for others.

As companies engage in their 2023 strategic planning initiatives, leaders must understand and plan for the impact changes will have on their people. Of course, stepping into unknown territory can initiate a fear response in those who enjoy comfort and predictability. By utilizing the PDP tool, we can tap into our employee's natural behavior and what motivates them. This type of awareness can give our people the support to forge ahead, driven and inspired to step into the unknown with confidence and clarity.

Let us never underestimate the power of awareness!

See below a brief synopsis of how different behaviors respond to change or something new:

Dominance

Will forge ahead and take charge in whatever way possible. Seeks control.

Extroversion

Will be invigorated by trying something new, especially if they get to talk with others about it. Seeks collaboration.

Pace

Will embrace change if given time to process and told the “why.” Seeks predictability and time to adjust.

Conformity

Will need details in order to assess and accept risks associated with change. Seeks to reduce risk.

As leaders we must first be aware of how we handle change and then how each behavioral response will impact the success of a change initiative.

5 Culture Trends for 2023

What to expect in the year ahead

Every year the experts at KYT spend time researching trends in the marketplace. One of the most impactful areas we study is company culture and how it's trending.

According to the OC Tanner Institute, the top 5 Culture Trends for 2023 are as follows:

Culture Trend #1: Employees want more from their work.

People are questioning their priorities and reevaluating the personal pros and cons of their employment.

Culture Trend #2: Workplace community is increasingly important.

Employees thrive when they feel they belong to a strong workplace community.

Culture Trend #3: Leaders are burning out.

With increased responsibilities, turnover, and uncertainty, leaders are burning out—and need appreciation and support more than ever.

Culture Trend #4: The rise of generalists.

The post-pandemic is ideal for workers with a breadth of knowledge and skills who thrive in ambiguity. These employees are widely known as generalists.

Culture Trend #5: Symbolic awards build belonging.

Organizations have an opportunity to amplify appreciation and build community with tools like symbolic awards.
