Planting Good Seeds - Tom's Story

Tom McFarren was among the first tenants to move in to Harmony Village shortly after it's completion in December 2020. Three years later, he reflects on what his affordable housing unit means to him, what it's like being a part of the tight-knit community within Harmony Village, and how Habitat for Humanity Yuba/Sutter has helped transform his outlook on life.

The Next Chapter - Elizabeth's Home

The final house of our Sierra Vista III development is now home to single mother, Elizabeth Wishteyah. Not only is this an incredible milestone for our organization, marking the last of 36 families who have moved into our affordable housing development, but this is also a major step for Elizabeth who is now the first member of her family to own their own home. Congratulations and welcome home Elizabeth 💙

Crafting Hope at Harmony Village

To celebrate the new year, our Supportive Outreach Services team hosted a vision board building session at Harmony Village for tenants to chart out their aspirations and plans for the future. Dreams of furry friends, delicious food, and new homes were among those that were shared. "Helping our tenants recognize their goals in life and figuring out how they can achieve them is an important part of our day-to-day job" case manager, Cindy Lane said.

A Humble Gathering in Humboldt County


Habitat for Humanity Yuba/Sutter co-hosted a community gathering in Rio Dell to commemorate one year since a 6.4 magnitude earthquake struck the Eel River Valley area of Humboldt County, devastating approximately 381 homes. The gathering brought together several organizations, Humboldt County officials, and families within the community for an evening of relief, remembrance, and resources.

California Dreaming - Reducing the Cost of Homeownership


This month, Habitat for Humanity California hosted its 13th Annual Advocacy Day in Sacramento where Habitat affiliates, including our Yuba/Sutter team, were granted the opportunity to meet with the state's elected officials and inform them on what they can do to help Habitat affiliates across California provide even more life-changing opportunities. Speakers outlined various priorities to solve the housing crisis, including the goal of restoring $152.5 million to the CalHome Program, which has helped 11,245 people achieve affordable homeownership or home repairs over the last decade.

We accept all vehicles whether they are running or not and towing is completely FREE.
