Fondest New Year Wishes from the Trail!

Hello Friends and Partners,

Welcome to our newsletter! As we step into 2024, we stand on the brink of a remarkable transformation at The End of the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center. With great enthusiasm, we are preparing for 2025, a year that will mark the 30th anniversary of our opening—a significant milestone that calls for celebration and reflection. We are excited to unveil a series of special events and exhibits designed to honor our rich heritage and the stories that have shaped our community. Kicking off in January, we will introduce a captivating new exhibit featuring a generously donated 1840s emigrant wagon, alongside a thought-provoking lecture series in our theatre and various enhancements throughout the site.

The essence of our center lies in community; it has long served as a gathering place for concerts, ball games, and shared journeys. This year, we emphasize the theme of Healing, encouraging all of you to join us in revisiting our narratives and welcoming new, diverse voices into the conversation surrounding the Oregon Trail's legacy. Together, let us explore, learn, and uncover our shared history, fostering a sense of belonging and connection that will resonate for generations to come.

Warmly,

Corinne Lowenthal

Executive Director, Clackamas Heritage Partners

Meet Marguerite!

Marguerite McCluckin joined CHP this fall. She simply appeared one day and has proven to be one of our favorite coworkers. We’re so happy she found us. For Christmas we even got her a custom coop (to be delivered any day)!
