Dear Neighbors,

I hope you enjoyed the holidays with family and friends. It was nice to have our four daughters home. We enjoyed going on walks to the movies and playing Scattergories.

With the New Year upon us, I’ve been reflecting on some of my personal goals for the year ahead. Here are my top three:

  1. Be more patient with our new puppy. In October, we adopted a 1-year old puppy to join our two other dogs and two cats. He is full of energy (yes, he can be a little crazy), loves running in the yard, and chewing my shoes –– and anything else that he can get his mouth on!
  2. Become a stronger biker. As some of you know, I’m a triathlete. I’m preparing for two big races next year. Of the 3 triathlon events, biking is my weakest, so I’m going to be working on that. The good news is the backroads of Greenwich are great for training! One of my goals is to bike from the Greenwich Audubon to Tod’s Point and back. That’s 28 miles and about 1,400 feet of elevation. It’s also a great way to see so much of our beautiful town. I’ll let you know how that goes. Maybe you want to join me? I would love the company.
  3. See more movies. During the holiday I went to see Marty Supreme. It reminded me what a lovely pastime that can be. By the way, I highly recommend it.

And, as always, read more books, a perennial goal. I like both fiction and non-fiction, so if you have any recommendations, please send them my way!

As always, please feel free to reach out to me at: Rachel.Khanna@greenwichct.gov or (203) 622-7706.

I wish you all the best for the year ahead,
