Happy New Year and welcome to the new version of NEWEA's newsletter! Rather than sending you monthly news and events and quarterly updates on member happenings, we wanted to combine them into one convenient, monthly email for you.
This newsletter, which you'll receive on the first Monday of each month, will include links to important news, updates on upcoming events, member profiles, and articles created by our committees.
This month, we have all the information you need to stay informed about the 2019 Annual Conference & Exhibit and great articles contributed by members of our Safety, Sustainability, and Utility Management committees.
We hope you enjoy this new newsletter and the content in this month's edition. We invite our members to submit relevant articles and updates to jgosselin@newea.org for future editions.
Once again, happy New Year, and we look forward to seeing everyone at the Annual Conference!

Green Steps: From the Sustainability Committee
By Courtney Eaton, PE, ENV SP
Sustainability Committee Co-Chair
In this installment of Green Steps, we wanted to highlight a few upcoming initiatives from our very own NEWEA Sustainability Committee. In order to keep the conversation around sustainability relevant and relatable to NEWEA’s broad and diverse membership, the committee is set to release a Sustainability Survey in early 2019.
Our goal in this survey will be to better understand the general and specific knowledge of the membership related to sustainable topics, as well as to poll members on what topics are most relevant and urgent to our region and industry. Using the survey results, we hope to tailor our sessions and future webinars according to what we hear from you, our members! So be on the lookout – we want your input!
