As we begin a new year, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued membership, solidarity, and commitment to our Union. A new year always brings new opportunities and new challenges, and 2026 will be a particularly important year for our members.
Several of our collective bargaining agreements will be expiring in the months ahead.
These agreements are far more than just documents—they are the foundation of your wages, benefits, job protections, scheduling rights, and working conditions. Everything from health insurance and paid time off to seniority and workplace safety is secured through the collective bargaining process. When a contract expires, it is our opportunity—and responsibility—to build on what we have achieved and to fight for improvements that reflect the realities you face on the job.
Successful bargaining depends on member participation. Your experiences, priorities, and concerns shape our proposals at the bargaining table. Strong contracts are built when members are informed, engaged, and united.
I also want to remind Kroger and Homeland members that the new doctor network is now in effect this month. We understand that changes to healthcare networks can raise questions and concerns, and we are committed to making this transition as smooth as possible. Please review the resources included in this newsletter, which will help you identify your new insurance cards, understand how to find in-network providers, and answer frequently asked questions about the new plan.
As we move into this new year, your involvement will make the difference. Stay informed, participate when asked, and look out for one another. Together, we will protect what we have earned and work toward stronger contracts and a stronger Union.
