New Year, New Ways to Get Involved
We're welcoming a new year at the Women's Centre by welcoming new faces to our community! We are currently recruiting for a number of volunteer positions.

We need Girl Power Volunteers to facilitate our leadership and activism after-school program for girls in Grades 5 and 6.

We're recruiting Peer Support Volunteers to connect with women, providing resource information and referrals to women in person and over the phone.

We're recruiting Child Minding Volunteers to support our on-site Child Minding Program for children from 19 months to 12 years of age.

Apply today, or help us get the word out by sharing with a friend!
Workshops at the Women's Centre - A Year in Review

Did you know that in 2018, we held over 340 workshops, weekly groups, volunteer trainings, and issues discussions? 2018 was a year of growth and creativity for our Workshops Program. We continued to run old favourites, while introducing a variety of new workshops.

New on the Blog, we look back on a year of workshops, revisit good times together, and look forward to new things to come in 2019!
Thank You For Making the Holidays Brighter
On December 20, we closed the doors of our 2018 Holiday Toy Room after another incredible year. All through December, our Toy Room made the holidays a little brighter for the over 3,500 women and children who were able to access a holiday gift from the program.

We are grateful to every donor, volunteer, and community member who made our 2018 Toy Room a success! Together, we were able to create a season of support for thousands of women and their families in Calgary.
January Workshops

Our workshops are free and open to all women. View and register for January workshops online here.

Women Power is a new, welcoming group  that meets once per month and is open to any woman. Together, we will share some food, connect with other women, and learn from each other. Each session will be a different activity or topic planned and led by a woman in the group, with support from the rest of the group.

Our first Woman Power session will be a planning and rock painting session! Participants will be invited to share input about what they would like to see from the future of the program, and we'll participate in creating some rock art!

Snacks will be provided; bring a small dish to share if you are able, but this is not required!

Our January Zumba classes take place on Thursday evenings!  It's all about the party! Dance, shake and groove in a fun dance-style aerobics class that is designed to work for participants at all fitness levels.
