Our mission is to provide comprehensive recovery services that empower women to build a better life for themselves and their children.

An Evening of Elegance - An Impact That Lasts

Join us for the 23rd Annual Black Tie & Diamonds Gala this spring at the Graduate Hotel in Annapolis for an unforgettable night of glamour, auctions, dining, and dancing, all in support of women and children in recovery.

This year, the Rotary Club of Annapolis is proud to partner with Chrysalis House, celebrating 40 years of empowering women with substance use and mental health disorders, one of the few programs in Maryland where mothers can heal with their children by their side.

With silent and live auctions, a raffle, cocktail/mocktail hour, and a sold-out crowd of 250 guests, this signature event offers a powerful way to make a meaningful local impact.

Purchase tickets or become a sponsor and help us raise $75,000 to support the purchase of a much needed 16-passenger van to transport clients and children to appointments.

Chrysalis House is also seeking enthusiastic Auction Committee Volunteers to help make this year’s event shine even brighter! If you are interested in lending your time and creativity, contact Debbie at ddaugherty@chrysalishouses.org for details.

Thank You, Home Builders Care Foundation

Chrysalis House is grateful to the Home Builders Care Foundation for their generous support, which made several important facility improvements possible. Their funding allowed us to repair two damaged dining room doors leading to our courtyard, improving safety and restoring access to a shared space used for meals, connection, and reflection by the women and children we serve.

In addition, Home Builders Care Foundation’s support helped fund key safety and accessibility upgrades across our campus, including new exit devices, re-keyed locks, commercial-grade door hardware, and the installation of a solar light at our front entrance. These new improvements strengthen security, enhance functionality, and contribute to a safer, more welcoming environment. We sincerely thank the Home Builders Care Foundation for their partnership and for making a meaningful difference at Chrysalis House.

Community Leaders Visit Chrysalis House

Chrysalis House was honored to welcome Senator Dawn Gile and Delegate Stuart Schmidt Jr. for an updated tour and visit this month. During their time on campus, they had the opportunity to learn more about our mission, tour our facility, and see firsthand how Chrysalis House empowers women on their journey toward healing and independence.

We are grateful to Senator Gile and Delegate Schmidt for taking the time to engage with our work, listen to the needs of our community, and show their continued interest in the programs and services that make a lasting impact for the women and children we serve.

Merrill Family Therapeutic Nature & Walking Trail

Chrysalis House is thrilled to share an update on the Merrill Family Therapeutic Nature & Walking Trail. A big thank you to Mid-Atlantic Fence & Deck for installing this new fence. We are already seeing the positive impact it will have by enhancing safety and defining this important space. Their hard work and dedication to this project was so appreciated.

We are also sincerely grateful to The Second Genesis Foundation for providing the funding that made this phase of the trail possible. Their support is helping us create a safe, welcoming environment for healing and reflection. We will be adding the final touches, including the entry arbor, clean-up, swings, and signage. Stay tuned for more updates as the trail continues to come together.

Inspiring Students at Career Day

Robin Rickard, our CEO of Chrysalis House, recently had the pleasure of attending Corkran Middle School’s Career Day, where she enjoyed sharing her professional journey and connecting with students. Robin was especially happy to answer students’ questions about how they can explore their passions, get involved in their community, and work hard to achieve their goals

Robin spoke about the mission of Chrysalis House, her role as Chief Executive Officer and the path that led her there, highlighting a career rooted in public service, and a deep commitment to addressing addiction and mental health challenges.

With more than 30 years of service in the Anne Arundel State’s Attorney’s Office and in state government, Robin’s passion was shaped during her work in the felony drug unit and drug court.

This passion was later strengthened when she was appointed by then-Governor Larry Hogan to lead the Maryland Opioid Operational Command Center. Today, as CEO of Chrysalis House, she continues to advocate for women and children working to build healthier, more stable lives.

Robin was proud to be included among many talented professionals to provide inspiration and possibilities for the next generation.
