We offer instructional clinics focused on learning the fundamentals, stick skills, teamwork, and game basics, as well as league play for players ready to compete in organized games.


Our coaches emphasize skill development, sportsmanship, and confidence, all while keeping the game fun.

Spring Soccer Returns

Soccer Registration Now Open!



Our spring soccer program is open to boys and girls from 2 years old through 8th grade and is designed for players of all skill levels. We offer both developmental clinics for beginners and league play for those ready for structured games.


Players will build fundamental skills, learn teamwork, and enjoy an active, fun environment led by experienced coaches. Join us this spring for a great season on the field!

1st Ever Youth Dek Hockey League

JRP Dek Hockey League is Accepting Registrations Now

Join the newest league in the newest outdoor facility in town! This shoes only league (no skates needed) will operate just like all of our other traditional sports in town, where everyone will be placed on a team, supplied a jersey, and have a weekly practice and game.


  • Skate, stick, score: Fast-paced action on every shift.
  • Teamwork wins: Build skills, bonds, and bragging rights.
  • Hockey outside: Enjoy the beautiful game outdoors.


Just like every other sport in town, volunteer coaches are a must! When registering please consider coaching a team and be part of this inaugural leagues program design.


Helmets with full cage/visor, shin guards, gloves and a stick are required. Limited equipment is available for loan for new players. Please contact recreationstaff@ellington-ct.gov to secure your equipment if you are in need.

Enrichment Programs

Chess Wizards


Invites students in Grades K–5 to join a fun and engaging six-week chess program running on Tuesdays from 5:30–6:30 PM, February 3–March 10. Participants will enjoy exciting lessons, friendly games, and cool prizes while building confidence and strengthening problem-solving skills. All materials are provided. The program fee is $150 per child. Unleash your brain power and spend part of your winter sharpening your mind with Chess Wizards!

Food Explorers


Invites students in Grades 2–5 to a hands-on culinary adventure on Mondays from 5:30–6:30 PM, Feb. 2–March 2. All recipes are nut-free and vegetarian. This program encourages curiosity, creativity, and collaboration through sensory-rich experiences, hands-on learning, and our unique “food neutral” approach, giving kids the freedom to explore and build confidence in the kitchen. The program fee is $80 per child, and all materials are provided.

Music and Movement


Is an engaging program that combines song, and physical activity to support creativity, and self-expression. Participants explore movement through music using dancing, and simple instruments. The program encourages active listening, motor skill development, balance, and social interaction in a supportive environment. Designed to be inclusive and adaptable, music & movement encourages a lifelong love of music and wellness!
