What's your New Year's Resolution?

Dear HCC Member:

The Holiday season is over and the New Year brings much opportunity to improve our community. "What is your resolution?" Is a question we ask ourselves and a good question to start a conversation with a young person.

HCC would also like to bring a special awareness to National Human Trafficking Prevention Month and how it relates to underage drug and alcohol use.

This HCC January Newsletter has some really valuable resources, updates about what the coalition is working on, and articles for you to share with your circle of influence.

If you are new to HCC or just learning about the coalition, you can find us on Facebook @yourlife-yourchoicehcc or you can find more information on our website:  http://www.yourlife-yourchoice.com/ .

Thank you all for that you do in the community!

Teen Vogue  suggests adolescents “can improve fitness.” A Huffington Post teen blog lists “read more books.” And the quirky website liveabout.com has a list of  nebulous goals , such as get healthy, get happier and be a better person.
Those miss the mark. Read More

What is Human Trafficking?
Human trafficking involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Every year, millions of men, women, and children are trafficked worldwide – including right here in the United States. It can happen in any community and victims can be any age, race, gender, or nationality. Traffickers might use violence, manipulation, or false promises of well-paying jobs or romantic relationships to lure victims into trafficking situations. Read more
