Dear Grace Family, 

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year! May this year bring you happiness, love, good health, and goodwill! The new year always makes us think, what will this year bring? It brings Grace in the Heights to our 120th year of being in our community and serving our neighbors! What a wonderful way to begin our year! I am sure everyone has fond memories of Grace, and all the people who come through our doors to worship and serve the Lord! We will be planning a celebration for Grace this year! A celebration to look forward to! 

January 2025 has these opportunities for you: 

Sermon on the Mount Bible Study is on Tuesdays from 6:00 – 7:00 pm in the adult Sunday school room. We will dive into what Jesus was teaching about on the mount. Join us for an informative class and great fellowship! 

 Messy Church is in the Fellowship Hall from 9:15 – 10:15 am on 1/15/25. Join us for story time, crafts, songs, and prayer! We will read, Designed by God so I must be Special. 

We are trying something new with Messy Church. We will take Messy Church to the parks! We will try Messy Church out at Donovan Park on 1/15/25 at 4:00 pm. We will take two crafts and a story to see how we can reach more families. If you are interested in volunteering at either Messy Church event, feel free to reach me at family@graceintheheights.org. 

Houston Food Bank Service Day will be on 1/25/25 at 535 Portwall St. Houston, Tx 77029. We will meet there and work from 8:00 – 12:00. If you would like to volunteer, please sign up in the narthex or contact me. You will still have to sign up online for the Food Bank. This is the link:

We will also have a special Date Night on Valentine’s evening from 6:00 – 10:00 pm. This will be a fundraiser for our youth to go to UMArmy this summer. We may have three teens that will attend. You can contact me or Christina to sign up. The price is per hour: one child - $16, two children - $23, and three children - $26. This does not include dinner. We will have a fun night planned for the children so you can enjoy the night out! 

We are off to a great new year filled with opportunities to love and serve our neighbors! May we go out into our world and spread the joy of God’s love.
