New Year New You?
“We cannot live the afternoon of life according to the program of life’s morning.”
— Carl Jung
There’s a familiar kind of confusion when the mental push for a “New You” meets the physical reality of a body that feels stiff, unreliable, or slower to recover. That sudden catch in your lower back or the ongoing tightness in your hips isn’t a failure of willpower. It’s information.
Earlier in life, momentum often came from sheer capacity. We could do more, push harder, recover faster, and adjust on the fly. Effort worked, even when it was inefficient.
However, over time, many of us begin to value a more refined kind of growth, one that emphasizes efficiency, clarity, and sustainability rather than effort alone. our evolution here is reflective of that.
I’ve shared a more in depth reflection on my website blog for those interested in how this perspective may better support healthy aging through wiser, more sustainable movement.
