2021 - Let's NOT Change
I'm not a fan of New Year Resolutions. To me, they indicate the need for massive change, instead of celebrating what I may have done right the year before, and just expanding on that.

In that spirit, Community Action is taking the same stance. Last year we provided thousands of pounds of food to local families who were struggling to feed their families, distributed tens of thousands of dollars in new utility assistance, and helped make every person count through our Census work.

For 2021, our reality isn't changing - families still need us, so we plan on doubling down on our commitment to our neighbors. If you need us, we will be there. We will help put food on the table through our weekly Pantry Program, we will help cover your utility bills through our utility assistance programs, and we will help reduce your energy cost my helping to make your home more energy efficient.

Homes now need to support so many more aspects of our daily lives, and we are committed to helping those families at risk of losing theirs.

If you supported us in 2020 through a financial contribution, or by volunteering your time - we THANK YOU. You make these commitments for 2021 possible. If you're interested in supporting our work as part of your 2021 goals, read on.

With Gratitude,

On Target for a Great Fundraising Partnership
Target has recently rolled out its new corporate philanthropy program, designed to give shoppers fun perks, and - more important - an easy way to give back to local communities. CAVC is thrilled to announce that we are one of FIVE local nonprofits selected to participate in this Beta program.

It’s a super-cool (and fast-growing) loyalty program packed with fun surprises, community giving and personalized perks—oh, and how about earning 1% on every trip to redeem later?

Enroll in this free rewards program and cast your for us so we can receive a grant and continue to help our community in different ways. All you have to do is join the Target Circle, which is free. Every time you shop at Target, you will earn Votes, and then you can designate your Votes to Community Action of Ventura County! Vote now through March 31.
Enrolling In Target Circle
Guests in participating markets can enroll in the Giving Program for free. There are three easy ways to sign up for Target Circle:
1. Sign up at
2. Download the Target app
3. Provide phone number at checkout

Earning Votes
Guests earn one vote every time they make an eligible purchase at Target, online and in-store. In this regard, it’s not your typical voting program. Members earn votes as they shop at Target.

Casting Votes
Casting votes is a completely digital experience. A Target Circle Member may login to his/her Target account at or on the mobile app and follow the prompts and instructions to vote. Give your earned votes to Community Action of Ventura County. The more votes we get, the greater our chances are of getting a larger piece of the prize.
