Are teeth considered bones?
While there are similarities, your teeth are technically not bones. Our bones are made of a protein called collagen and contain about 99% of the body’s calcium and function as living organs. Our teeth are made of multiple layers of both hard and soft tissue known as enamel and dentin. There are no living cells in enamel, so unlike bones, it can’t regenerate new enamel once it is lost, which is why it's so important to take good care of your oral health. So, what are the similarities? Both our teeth and our bones need key essential nutrients to stay strong and healthy.
