E nriching the Lives of Youth through Baseball
Newsletter - January 2020
Our Core Values

At the JP4 Foundation, we believe kids who have their basic needs met have a higher chance of success in school and navigating their teenage years with positive outcomes, which in turn leads to happy and productive lives as adults. We believe access to nutritional food, a sense of safety and security, and positive relationships with peers and adults are fundamental tenets of these basic needs.

The JP4 Foundation seeks to fulfill these needs by providing opportunities for kids to try new things, experience failure (yes, failure), and feel a sense of accomplishment for a job well done or a sense of pride in developing a new skill. And we do this with the simple game of baseball.

Thanks to you, our many supporters who share our commitment to better the lives of our youth,  the JP4 Foundation plans to offer multiple community events and summer programs that will help meet these basic needs. Our community of individual and corporate supporters continues to grow and we are truly humbled by your support.

As a result of your ongoing generosity and engagement, the JP4 Foundation is preparing to host its 2nd annual Unified Wiffle Ball Tournament in partnership with the Special Olympics of Minnesota. The event is focused on providing a platform for kids from two different peer groups to develop a positive relationship through the game they love.
JP4 Summer Long Baseball Camps 2019

This summer, we will launch our third year of  summer-long baseball camps for kids in at-risk communities. These camps bring nutritional meals, a positive, safe, and healthy environment for kids to build positive relationships with peers and adults.

Our summer will wrap up with our 3rd annual  Take Me Out to the Ball Game event dedicated to families facing extraordinary circumstances.

Thank you for a wonderful 2019, and here's to an even better 2020!

Camps for Kids Recap

The 2nd annual Camps for Kids Holiday Party was a hit! With over 150 attendees the party grew in participation and rolled momentum into the new year. The night was kicked-off with a delightful surprise from Bowen Jarombek, a 4th grader from Northpoint Elementary school, when he announced his own donation of $300 to the JP4 Foundation. Bowen's generous
donation came from extra money he earned during a previous baseball fundraiser. Bowen concluded his speech with the following line that prompted a standing ovation from the attendees. "I hope [the campers this summer] get as much joy out of playing baseball as I do."

All proceeds for the night go towards the 2020 summer-long baseball camps. This summer, the JP4 Foundation plans to impact over 120 kids once a week for the entire summer in North Minneapolis, South Minneapolis, and East Saint Paul. Giving for the night was kicked off with a special message from the Cargill Giving Team.
