2018 was an amazing year and we hope 2019 will be even better! In hopes to jump start your continued success we have a few pointers If you haven’t locked down your 2019 goals.
First you must have a laser focus to set a limited amount of goals to what is wildly important. By keeping the list short and sweet you will create accountability and engagement. Resist the urge to become distracted and veer off course by the shiny ball that appears daily.
Second it must be measurable. Formula: X to Y by When. Being able to track the progress is essential to determine if you doing the right activities to accomplish your goal.
Third create weekly commitments that help move you closer to the goal. Often we look at metrics that we cannot do anything about. For instance at month end we look at the bottom line and say “Wish we would have had a better month. We need more sales. Next month we are just going to have to sell more!” When in reality we need to be working the equation backwards. For the upcoming month we have a sales goal of X. To achieve our plan we need X amount of installs, X amount maintenance agreements, X amount of leads, X amount of repairs, X amount of IAQ sales etc. By breaking down what the goal is comprised of you are making the goal attainable and relatable. Then each department understands their role and responsibility to help support the outcome and then it further segments into each person making a commitment to the big picture. You now have an achievable and winnable game. Everyone likes to be on a winning team!
