Spezio Italian Dinner Fundraiser returns for a third year!

On Saturday, February 10, 2024
the Spezio Italian Dinner Fundraiser is back!

This favorite annual event is brought to us by Joe & Nancy DePippo with 100% of proceeds coming to our Club!

A Spezio carryout dinner is $200 and will include enough to feed 6-8 people.

The box includes:
  • One 9 x 13 full pan vegetarian cheese lasagna
  • 6 meatballs & sauce all prepared from scratch using traditional Italian family recipes
  • One 8 oz. container of extra sauce
  • 4 Hickory Nut Gap Farms mild Italian sausage links
  • One artisan boule of bread from Pisgah Bakehouse
  • 6 cannoli from Blue Ridge Bakery
  • 6 Specialty Italian cookies from Cup & Saucer
  • 4 dark chocolate hearts from Downtown Chocolates
  • A coupon for a discount on a bottle of wine from Broad Street Wines
  • A floral touch from Floressence Flowers

Items are prepared and then assembled in Brevard College's kitchen and boxed and ready for carryout to reheat and enjoy! A perfect meal whether you are hosting a Super Bowl dinner party at your home OR just enjoying a quiet night in with family.

Not in town that weekend? We are continuing our tradition of offering boxes for purchase that will be donated to Bread of Life and our staff families!

Pickup from 10am until 12pm on Saturday, February 10th from the side parking lot of Brevard College Bill's Boiler House Coffee Shop.

The Mindset of Mentoring
We are proud to offer a mentoring program at our Club where a staff member or volunteer is paired with a Club member. The purpose of our mentoring program is to provide extra social and emotional support through weekly meetings. But for our staff, mentoring is also a mindset. This year our full-time staff have been using any "free time" they have in the afternoon (when they're not leading programming) to deepen relationships with the kids who need us most.

There are so many ways our mentors connect with their mentees! Our Health & Wellness Director, Autumn, is often found with a member (or 2 or 3) helping her clean or set up for a game. Kent, our Operations Director, has a different "Special Assistant" each day who gets to wear a special badge and helps him make sure the Club is running smoothly. AnaBelle, our Assistant Operations Director, has a girl gang of first graders who love to make friendship bracelets up in her office. Jamie, our Assistant Executive Director, can often be found giving life advice to our older teen members during the afternoons when they come to visit her in her office.

We love seeing how excited our Club members are to spend time with their mentors! Building these relationships creates a strong foundation of support and connection at our Club and we know our members will carry that into all aspects of their lives.
