Resources for Congregations
in Transition

The Synagogue Council received a request from the most distant congregation in the short history of MAAVAR,  A congregation in San Miguel de Ellende in central Mexico needed a yahrzeit board.  We were able to send them a wooden board from Tifereth Israel in Revere, because the shipping on a typical metal board would have been prohibitive.

Later this month, we will be listing a large number of sanctuary objects, as well as Torahs, from Temple Beth Abraham in Auburn, Maine.  The congregation, founded in 1902, is merging with another local synagogue.  Its historic ark is going to the Maine Historical Society, but many of the objects that its new partner cannot used will be offered through MAAVAR  Keep your eye out for the listings!
We also ask for your philanthropy so that we can continue to build our capacity to serve.
