Greetings from C. Darby Ulery, founder of "Let's Go! Fairhope" events-related newsletter, calendar and website resource for Fairhope, Alabama.
Happy New Year to you and yours from Let's Go! Fairhope. We typically see an abbreviated events list this week each year, so we've included a couple reminders about today, December 29, along with next week's happenings. Some January dates you may or may not have skimmed last week are also below. If your event is missing, and/or this isn't your style, feel free to reply and suggest some other ideas.
The City of Fairhope appears to have not left any detail overlooked this year regarding another thrilling New Year's Eve celebration downtown. Below are some informational graphics the City released detailing tents, street closures, and schedule of activities. Note: ***The parking garage will be accessible via Church Street***
The Eastern Shore Art Center will be opening for First Friday Art Walk, and the Hope Community in partnership with the Mobile Bay Maker's Market is running ahead with their inaugural 5K event.
Additional events are included in the printable events list, and even more are found in the electronic calendar on the letsgofairhope.com website. Please submit yours to letsgofairhope@gmail.com.

From Hope Community:
Hope Community, in collaboration with the Mobile Bay Maker’s Market, invites you to join us in the inaugural 5K Race/Walk fundraiser to be held in the historic Fairhope South neighborhood on January 4, 2025.
Your registration and support will help create an interconnected community that fosters unity and well-being through meaningful relationships and education. This race allows people to experience our community and embrace an event established to support healthy lifestyles and outdoor recreation.
After the race, we invite the community to enjoy food, music, and fellowship while strolling through the booths of local makers and growers of Baldwin County on the grounds of the Anna T. Jeanes School property.
Your race registration fee helps get us closer to our vision of a healthy teaching farm, kitchen, community center, and gardens in the Fairhope South neighborhood.
Awards will be given for the top overall male and female finishers in the 5K, and the top 3 in each of the following age groups:
9 & under
10-14
15 – 19
20-29
30-39
40-49
50-59
60-69
70 & over
There will be food trucks, water stations, portable facilities, and some of the Eastern Shore’s favorite local artisans from the Mobile Bay Maker’s Market on site. You will also find the best after-race party in town under the giant oaks, headed up by Fairhope South’s very own esteemed deejay, Demetrius Martin.
