We’re excited to provide an update on the merger between the South Surrey & White Rock Chamber of Commerce and the Surrey Board of Trade. The legal agreement has been signed, and the formal petitions for federal approval have been submitted, with an estimated approval timeline of four to six months. Once approved, the new Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade will become the largest chamber/board of trade in BC, bringing expanded networking, stronger advocacy, and a unified business voice for the region.
During this transition, membership fees for both organizations remain frozen. If you are currently a member of the South Surrey & White Rock Chamber, your membership will be transferred to the Surrey & White Rock Board of Trade upon final approval, and your first renewal will be at your current rate. After the first year, membership fees will align with the Surrey Board of Trade’s tiered system, based on full-time equivalent employees and adjusted for inflation. For those with memberships in both organizations, your Chamber membership will be converted into a pro-rated credit for use toward your renewal, events, or marketing with the new entity.
We encourage all current members to renew their membership to ensure uninterrupted access to the full range of benefits as we move through the merger process. As we progress, both organizations are co-hosting events and creating opportunities for members to provide feedback on how this merger can best serve our communities. We appreciate your continued support and will keep you informed with regular updates.
