Career Closet for
Southeastern Lions
Wesley Ministry at Southeastern Louisiana University has created a "Career Closet" for students in need of proper attire for business interviews ... what a great way to give new life to your wardrobe.
Donations may be dropped off at First United Methodist Church (203 N. Jefferson Avenue) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays 9 - 12:00 or Tuesdays and Thursdays 9 - 3:00.

For more info or a tax receipt, contact Pastor Sam Hubbard at [email protected].
Christ Temple Church invites you to
New Year's Eve at the Trailhead
Pastor Fred Taylor and Christ Temple Church invite you to ring in the New Year a bit early (5pm to 7pm) at the Trailhead.

Bring your chairs and masks OR stay in your cars. Either way, you're in for some wonderful toe-tapping, hand-clapping Gospel.
Christmas Tree Pick-up
Curbside pick-up by Coastal
Week of January 11th - 15th

For recycling (marsh preservation) before January 11th or after January 15th (and for those who don't use Coastal), drop off trees at 1515 Florida Street (Parish Fairgrounds, located behind Lyon Elementary) throughout January.

For pick-up or recycle, trees must be stripped of all decorations, tinsel and stand. No flocked trees.
Here's Wishing You the
Happiest of New Years!
Inside each of us is a purpose. This purpose is aching to be found, to get out and to make our family, our community and / or our world a better place.

For the year 2021, my wish is for each of us to discover that purpose and to enjoy the journey towards its fulfillment.

Today, we (the City), have a problem with traffic. The streets of downtown were laid out almost 100 years (1813) before the invention of the automobile. The streets of New Covington (from St. Tammany Parish Hospital to Collins Blvd.) were laid out in 1887. During the early 20th century cars were small and rare (see nighttime picture above). Today almost 15,000 people drive into and out of Covington each weekday.
We now have reached a point where there are more vehicles than street.
Patience is a virtue.

Utility bill auto-draft from your checking account eliminates multiple steps for your utility billing clerks ... which makes city hall more efficient.
That's a good thing.
