Dear NYSTA Members,

I am pleased to share the release of the New York Golf Economic & Environmental Impact Report, conducted by Radius Sports Group in collaboration with Cornell University and industry partners.

Synopsis:

Golf in New York is a $12.9 billion economic engine that supports more than 89,000 jobs, contributes over $1 billion in state and local tax revenue, and delivers measurable environmental and community benefits. The report highlights that nearly every course uses water conservation practices, New York’s 103,000 acres of greenspace provide vital ecosystem services, and more than 14,000 charitable events raised over $267 million in 2023 alone.

This study demonstrates the essential role golf plays in New York’s economy, environmental stewardship, and community development.

I am proud to note that NYSTA contributed over 40% toward this study through Turfgrass Environmental Stewardship (TESF) funding and that NYSTA sponsored the launch at the Ryder Cup in conjunction with the Metropolitan PGA. Together, we are ensuring that golf has a strong, unified voice in New York.
