Education & Entertainment:
Developing Brooklyn Whole Foods Market
Chris Cervelli CCIM-2016 Chapter President
Welcome back from summer. I hope you have returned energized and ready to capitalize on the opportunities that remain for the rest of 2016.  We have accomplished quite a bit, with lots more to come.

This Year So Far...
  • Education and Entertainment with Wanda Monahan:  On March 31, 2016, more than 40 New York Metro CCIM Chapter members and their guests gathered at the Saddle Brook Marriott for an engaging seminar and networking event.  Wanda Chin Monahan, a partner with the law firm of Sedita, Campisano & Campisano, LLC, with more than 25 years' experience in the practice of Environmental Law, delivered an informative presentation on site remediation and redevelopment, environmental liability, enforcement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Real Share Net Lease 2016: This conference brought together the industry's most influential and knowledgeable real estate executives from across the net lease sector on April 12-13, 2016. As evidenced by the yearly increase in attendance, RealShare's highly productive conferences remain unrivaled in the industry by combining an unequaled information platform with an unparalleled networking opportunity.  Following an opening night reception, the conference featured leading players in the net lease space including New York Chapter Members Wayne D'Amico, Camille Renshaw and Josh Pardue.

  • Real Estate The Economy/Uncut:  More than 100 CCIMs and their guests gathered at the New York Stock Exchange on April 14 for breakfast and a lively discussion of the economy and real estate trends for 2016, given by Dr. Ted Jones, Chief Economist-Senior Vice President for Stewart Title and Jim Costello - CRE, Senior Vice President of Real Capital Analytics. Those in attendance were not only treated to an executive briefing on the state of key global and national economic issues such as inflation, interest rates, employment and consumer spending, but were provided with an insightful review of what's and what's not in commercial real estate.
  • On the education front, the Chapter sponsored a CCIM Intro Class for the US Army ROTC February 10 & 11 and a Crowd Funding Course led by Gene Trowbridge on June 23rd and June 24th.

  • As part of our National participation, the Chapter sent delegates to CCIM Business Meetings in Chicago in April and to Officer Training in August.
  • We've elected a new Chapter Leadership Team for 2017.
