BROOKLYN AND QUEENS CLOSE OUT THE YEAR WITH THEIR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY
   ________________________________

With Christmas fast approaching, The Brooklyn and Queens Bakers gathered at the famous Zum Stammisch Restaurant in Glendale, known for its German food and beer.  The Association has held their annual Christmas event there not long after the restaurant's opening in 1972.

Great food was matched with the great fellowship that has developed and grown over the years.

As is tradition, Members provided all of the desserts.

WESTCHESTER BAKERS ASSOCIATION START OFF THE  NEW  YEAR  CELEBRATING THEIR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

The evening started out with Vice President JD making his grand entrance when he arrived in the Trattoria Resturant, Pleasantville parking lot with his Hurst. He tells us it has more cargo area than a station-wagon or SUV

After a delightful dinner it was time to open the Secret Santa Grab bag.

All of the presents were well thought out and the process of selecting ...

And trading

Following that, we all gathered around a table for a simple exercise of opening one
present
 and
keeping it.  A minor point I forgot to mention was that the person opening the present had to wear oven mits while the person to their left rolled dice to try and get a pair, for example, two fours or two fives. Once they got a pair, the present, mits, and dice were handed to  the person to their left , and so on and so on.

And so on

And so on
until after much laughter and some frustration, the package was torn open and there was a WINNER!!!!!!

Merry Christmas to all!

Return to microwave; cook until blueberries are hot, but not bursting, 1 to 2 minutes. Meanwhile,  in food processor place bread; whirl until coarsely crumbled; set aside. In large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat, melt butter. Add breadcrumbs and almonds. Cook, stirring frequently, until golden brown, 4 to 5 minutes.
