New York COVID-19 Mental Health Resources
NY Project Hope was created to help New Yorkers understand their reaction and emotions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

NY Project Hopes provides support through an emotional support helpline, educational materials, and trusted referrals. Project Hope Crisis Counselors understand what you are going through. Talking to them is free, confidential, and anonymous. Talk to someone who is trained, knowledgeable and never judges. Sometimes it helps to talk with someone you don’t know.

Project Hope: Coping Circles
Coping Circles: Coping Circles were created for all New Yorkers (18+ years old). Most of these Circles are open to the general public. If there is demand, Specialized Circles will be available for Healthcare Workers and First Responders, Survivors of COVID-19 Infection, those who have experienced Job Loss due to COVID-19, and those who have experienced Loss of a Loved One to COVID-19.

  • Each Coping Circle is made up of no more than six New Yorkers with one Coping Circle with one Facilitator.
  • Each Coping Circle will meet once a week for six weeks, for approximately 60 minutes each week.
  • Coping CIrcle Facilitators are NYS-licensed independent mental health professionals (creative arts therapists, marriage and family therapists, mental health counselors, psychiatric nurses, psychiatric nurse practitioners, psychiatrists, psychoanalysts, psychologists, and social workers).
  • These professionals responded when Governor Cuomo asked for mental health volunteers to support New Yorkers
